The "Schloss am Meer" was built in 1901/1902, the idea/design/preparation for the building was the brainchild of the builder, Mrs Johanna Breutz from Arendsee. At that time, the build, still with a flat roof and only a ground floor. 1st O.G. the extension of the II/III. floor is carried out. The house was renamed "Hotel Pavillon" from "Hotel Schloss am Meer" in 1912/13, but it never served as a castle nor was it used as a manor house. It got it´s name from its castle-like architecture. In the course of the years, the building has been rebuilt again and again and has a very lively history behind it. In 1922 the hotel was sold to Mr. Hagemeister, who had been the manager of the hotel since 1901.
